Gardening

We are planning to work in the garden this weekend like we did last weekend.  By "we", I mean the family since, technically, I worked in the house last weekend while Jim, Rebekah and the little kids worked in the yard.

They worked hard on the bark covered area.  It was covered with junk that we still need to get rid of (hmmm... I wonder if any of that is worth freecycling?).  We actually haven't touched that part of the yard since we moved here.

Now we have the patio tables moved to the patio.  What a novel idea!  And they cleared enough of the junk to the sides so we could do a "rough draft" of where our raised beds will be placed.  We also have plans for a melon patch in a grassy, but little used part of the yard.  We will just make that whole section a raised bed.

Our compost pile is already begun.  It's getting big already so we need to figure out where we will actually put it.  Right now the bin is outside our back door.  Convenient, but ... yuck!
